A mysterious Boards of Canada record was found at Other Music records in New York City. The cover reads simply as follows:

BOARDS OF CANADA

------ / ------ / ------ / XXXXXX / ------ / ------

The bottom of the cover bears a copyright notice dated "2013 WARP RECORDS LIMITED".

When played, the record contains approximately 40 seconds of audio, consisting primarily of a short set of chimes followed by a computer voice reciting six numbers, similar to a shortwave numbers station (such as the one sampled on "Gyroscope"). The numbers recited are 9 3 6 5 5 7.

According to a store employee, the record was hand-delivered by a Warp Records representative and is one of only 6 in the world. The rest are said to be all located outside the United States.
Also at this point Boards of Canada's YouTube account updates top favourite video to "Everything You Do Is A Balloon" fan video. on that fan video, a comment from Hell Interface links to the nuevas semillas private video (video 3) shown above with interesting graphics from little house on the prairie. That private video contains a link to the fourth video (video 4) shown above in which the new code position (3) is shown: 717228

The code
The cover symbols, recited numbers and reported number of records suggest a 36-digit code, to be discovered when all 6 releases are found. Assuming the Xs indicate where the numbers on each release go, the partial code is as follows:

first hint:
------ / ------ / ------ / 936557 / ------ / ------

At the 4min19sec mark in the video below, which is also part of their official YouTube channel, an annotation of this code has been added.

Please keep in mind that this "Julie And Candy" video was uploaded by user AtalantaFugiens, who only has this video on their channel. The version of this song seems to be a soundboard recording from one of Boards of Canada’s only live performances. Previously there was only a crowd recording available of this live set.

second hint:
------ / ------ / 717228 / 936557 / ------ / ------

The An Eagle In Your Mind Video Contest was a Boards of Canada fan video contest held by WATMM in late 2002. The videos were judged by the band themselves, who also supplied the prizes.

Announcement
The contest was announced on on August 8, 2002 on WATMM.

:Ever wish there were BoC videos? Can you imagine what a video for ROYGBIV would have, or Orange Romeda? Now's your chance, as we are having our first ever "Eagle In Your Mind" Video Contest!
:Hexagon Sun and BoC are kindly offering a autographed Limited Edition Geogaddi CD as the Grand Prize to the person who can make the most creative video set to their favourite BoC song!

Rules
There were no particular limitations to themes, file formats or content:

:All you need for this contest is your imagination, and a ton of creativity. Some of you may have already dabbled in video on the PC or Mac, or even BoC-style with old camcorders, Super 8 Film cameras, or other media. To enter the contest, all you have to do is pick your favourite BoC song (released) and set it to images. Not a computer person? Use a traditional camcorder and do it that way. If you are using a computer, you can use popular programs like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or almost any video editing software that comes with video capture cards and most of today's computers. Both the Mac and Windows XP have basic movie making software, so your only limitation is your imagination. You can use Macromedia's Flash to make an animated video, or any software that allows you to make moving images.

Entries were accepted by FTP or mail. The deadline for entries was originally December 15th but was pushed back to December 20th.

Most entries, including the three winners, were submitted in digital video form.

Results
The contest results were posted on June 10th on WATMM. The results were delayed as BoC were apparently away from Hexagon Sun for some time.

Instead of picking a single winner, the band awarded prizes to three videos. In addition to the expected prize of a signed copy of Geogaddi for each winner, the first place entry received a "very rare" signed metallic Music Has the Right to Children poster.

"We were impressed with the amount of work everyone put into this competition and ended up picking three favourites rather than one. there were quite a few great films submitted, some using using lovely super8 filmclips and some very nice fuzzy video. i know it's a cliche to say it was difficult to choose a winner, but it was. so in the end we figured the john-carpenter-tachyon-video-esque "corsair" clip by magnus hedberg was nicely done, especially with the additional sounds. next up was the norman mclaren-ish abstract clip that (anon?) made for "june 9th", which upon close inspection reveals nice little synchronisations to the different melody parts in our track. and finally the overall winner is the brilliant day-glo "gyroscope" clip by billy clayton, which has just the right lysergic qabala sesame street feel to it. great stuff. an honourable mention to the dreamy stills by david cameron who does a fine job unweaving our little tapestries on his site. well done to everyone who entered the competition and thanks for putting so much work in. and thanks for listening so closely..."
"keep up the Wo God Rok.... mike sandison "

The prizes arrived at Joyrex's on June 27th and were distributed to the winners.
