1. Changed the banner to a modified picture of the Pioneer Plaque

You say you're going through changes,
every day it seems your life is up and down
and you say that you're lookin' for an answer,
everwhere you look it seems it can't be found
like searchin' tryin' to find a rainbow
no one's ever found the treasures told to be,
but if you're lookin' for a lover,
everything you need, you can find right here in me

I've got the Midas Touch,
everything I touch turns to gold, or sugar,
I've got the Midas Touch,
baby, let me touch your body and your soul.

Now you've been trapped by love,
someone breaks your heart and then he says goodbye,
so you say that you'll never love another,
tired of playing games and that's the reason why,
but now whenever we're together,
there's a certain feeling that we both agree,
and it's time that you opened up to love,
cos you don't ever try then baby you may never see,

I've got the Midas Touch,
everything I touch turns to gold, hey darlin',
I've got the Midas Touch,
baby, let me touch your body and your soul.

Together you and I were meant to be,
I'll be right beside you whenever you need me,
cos the love we have will never fade away,
you can count on me, cos I'm here to stay.

I've got the Midas Touch,
everything I touch turns to gold, hey darlin',
I've got the Midas Touch,
baby, let me touch your body and your soul.

would you do that for me?

Formed by Andy Maddocks in 1990, the Manchester, England-based Skam Records is home to some of Electronic Music's most beloved musicians; including Bola, Gescom, Jega and Freeform. Skam is known for their secretiveness and their limited 12" releases.

Skam was Boards of Canada's first record label, releasing two of Boards of Canada's early EPs: the Hi Scores 12" (SKA008) and the Aquarius 7" (KMAS001). In a collaboration with Warp Records, Skam released Boards of Canada's first full length album Music has the Right to Children (WARP LP 55/SKALP001). It is worth noting that this was also Skam's first full length release as well.

They also released, in conjunction with German label Musik aus Strom, the limited-run MASK vinyl series, which contain a handful of additional Boards of Canada/Hell Interface tracks.

Samples / Lyrics
* First part of song: "Quia fec..."
* The voice at the end is reciting the Lord's Prayer:

"Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever, amen."

* [Main musical loop: J.S. Bach's Magnificat ("Aria: Quia fecit mihi magna") - thanks, [dave_from_2001], for identifying this as from the Magnificat.]

* The full quotation is: "Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est, et sanctum nomen eius" This is from Luke 1:49 in the Latin vulgate version - rough translation:

"because the One who is powerful has performed great works for me, and His name is holy". [DC]

* If you look at the context of this verse, you will see the Christmas connection that makes it fit in with the "Whine and Missingtoe" CD that it appears on.

* If one listens between the 1:07 and 2 minute mark, one can hear there is a heavily treated vocal which recites the following passage from hymn "Silent Night" [Derek]:

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright,
Round yon virgin mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

The vocal is treated in such a way that makes the lyric hard to decipher, which is also the case with the melody to "Silent Night."

* [Main musical loop: J.S.Bach's Magnificat ("Aria: Quia fecit mihi magna") - thanks, [dave_from_2001], for identifying this as from the Magnificat.]

"Telephasic Workshop" is the fourth track on Music Has the Right to Children. It was also released as a single backed with "Roygbiv".

__TOC__

Comments
* Perhaps a reference to telophase, a part of cell division; the idea of a biological "workshop" [DC].
* Perhaps also a reference to the Children's Television Workshop, who make Sesame Street (which BoC have frequently sampled).
* Telephasic: Tele: Of the mind, phasic: synchronized. This may be the meaning behind "Telephasic Workshop"; a meditative environment in which two or more individuals attempt to share a telepathic vision or idea. [Skytree]
* [Ken Stewart] - a possible reference (which seems more plausible than either of the above) to the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop, where interesting music and sound effects were produced for various TV programmes like Dr Who. It is located at Maida Vale where, incidentally, BoC recorded their Peel Session.
** As Ken suggests, the "radio-" part of "radiophonic" becomes "tele-" (from "television", as opposed to radio; also sounds like "telly"); while "-phonic" becomes "-phasic". In greek, "tele" means "from afar", "at a distance", and "phonic" means "relating to, or having the nature of sound, especially speech sounds" (Greek "φωνη", meaning "sound", properly, "sound of the voice"), while "phasic" means "relating to the production of speech" (from Greek verb φημι, "to speak"). So "telephasic" is "speaking at a distance", but the word is also a kind of analogue, in its construction, to the word "radiophonic" (→"telly-phasic").
*This might also reference Blue Öyster Cult's (also known as B.O.C.) "Workshop of Telescopes"

Samples / Lyrics
* A recurring voice, starting at 0:00, which might be saying "Ritual-Rit-Rit, Rit-Rit-Rit-Ritual"
* A chopped up voice sample seems to be saying "eight-eight-eight-eight-eight-you-don't-know-you-don't-know" around the end where the bass drums gets heavy.
* Starting at 4:01 there a Scottish accent which may be saying "yer no gonnae" which, when translated, means "you are not going to..." [Steven Harran]
* From 4:28, somebody shouting who may be saying "twenty cent", "come this way", or "somebody say" is heard in the left channel.
* A recurring voice sample seems to be saying "very personal moment" in the chopped up speech samples. Starting at 3:09, can be heard clearly at 4:26, 4:44 and 5:44 Discovered by user bonzoello.
* The chopped-up voices during the song may be saying "now this is very irresponsible".
* A slightly slowed-down male voice that may be saying "bordering Canada", "border of Canada", or "order in Canada", 4:40 and 5:18
*A pitched-down male voice saying "a barrier-a barrier-a barrier" that is heard in the right channel preceding and following both instances of the "bordering Canada" sample.
