* There appears to be a sample of a seagulls call at around 2:40 and again at 3:10. However these sound different from those sampled on "Happy Cycling".
* There are also voices in the coda of this track. Between 5:16 and 5:35 is a recording of a woman talking and laughing. She laughs (5:20), says what sounds like "You know, this won't last..." (5:22-5:24), "I didn't like ... that before (?) ... times(?)" (5:28-5:30), laughs (5:32). It sounds like a sentence of some sort but a lot of words drop out. These voices are sampled from an early 1970's anti-drug social hygiene film.
** The full quote is as follows (beginning at 5:16):

* There appears to be a sample of a whispery, male voice saying what sounds like "Seven" throughout the song, first appearing at 32seconds and 42seconds. It's significance is unknown.

Trivia
* "Chroma key" (or color key) is a technique used in video production to swap in a separate signal source over a particular chrominance range across the source video, e.g. in bluescreen cinema effects.
* The title could also be a reference to a musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber called "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
Comments
* Joe Clay: "An imposing chord sequence and whooshing synths announce the arrival of the dopest beat yet – a seriously funky, chopped-up hip-hop break. There are trace elements of looped vocals and gorgeously woozy melodies. This is like a souped-up "Telephasic Workshop". There's a long fade with rumbling bass that makes the speakers tremble."

Samples / Lyrics
*Around 1:46 a voice appears to say 'thank you'. further unintelligible vocal samples continue throughout the track.
*At 2:15, 2:24, 2:33, & 2:42 a modulated voice appears in the left channel saying something like "You'll believe anything" or "You keep leaving."

Ryetronics: /* Secret Weapon */

There has been much debate on what equipment Boards of Canada uses to get their unique sound. Due to their reclusive nature and lack of touring, not much is known for certain, but there is much speculation.

Secret Weapon
BoC themselves have, in multiple interviews, mentioned the use of a "secret weapon" they use to generate their unique sound. As the name implied, they have declined to provide any specific information on what this "weapon" might be, but most expect it to be some sort of old analog synth.

Many believe the Yamaha CS-80, used by Vangelis, to be this weapon. In the WATMM thread "ATTN BOC-sessives, CS-80 on eBay, however, jbible refutes this, saying

<blockquote>"The synth used by BOC often mistaken for a CS80 is a Crumar with a BOC emblem covering the name of the synth on the back."</blockquote>.

Since jbible has seen BoC live (and is the source of the Live @ ATP bootleg), his comments hold some weight.

“We love these low-quality tape machines,” Eoin says. “The great thing with machines such as the <b>Grundig</b> is that it's tragically bad. Whatever you record into it just doesn't come out unscathed. There's a ‘magic eye’ valve display on it, and when you hit the tape deck with the right volume, enough to fill out the magic eye, it's at that exact sweet spot that it is saturating the tape. So if you then sample back the playback, it's got a thousand years' grain on it.” Remix, 2005
