"Mike says: "Farewell Fire" Marcus is on keyboards, nothing more. He did it in a night session. There are moments where it stutters and it really feels like someone no longer able to play well out of sadness. That is why you should never program music. Even if it is an electronic piece, it sounds very human, heartbreaking."

Comments

 • Contrary to initial claims that this track was followed by a long period of silence, in actuality it simply decreases in volume to the very end, until it is barely audible.
 • In a Dutch interview Mike Sandison revealed some interesting information regarding this track. Here is the relevant text from the interview, translated from Dutch:

"Mike says: "Farewell Fire" Marcus is on keyboards, nothing more. He did it in a night session. There are moments where it stutters and it really feels like someone no longer able to play well out of sadness. That is why you should never program music. Even if it is an electronic piece, it sounds very human, heartbreaking." [1]
