Comments

  • Joe Clay: "Another beatless drone-piece, with arpeggiated synths and a subtle melody. It sounds retro-futurist as only BOC can – the perfect marriage between the warmth of analogue and the stark clarity of digital; a theme that is repeated throughout the album. As it evolves it gets darker, reminiscent of John Carpenter. It's pretty spooky." [1]

White Cyclosa is highly reminiscent of, and maybe a homage to, music from the film Day of the Dead (1985). Suggested comparison - the opening sequence of "The Dead Suite" on the soundtrack album, credited to John Harrison.

Samples / Lyrics

  • The persistent drone heard throughout the track sounds very much like whirring helicopter blades.

Trivia

  • Cyclosa may refer to a species of Spider part of the Araneidae family which creates life-size decoys of itself in order to hunt for its prey. [2]
