one very important thought
  • It would be wise to remember that the same people who would stop you from listening to Boards of Canada may be back next year to complain about a book or even a tv program. If you can be told what you can see or read then it follows that you can be told what to say or think. Defend your constitutionally protected rights, no one else will do it for you. sopastrike.com

abeautifulplace is the official BoC MySpace site.

Originally started on 14 Sep 2005 as an unofficial fan page, it has since been taken over by representatives of the band. A disclaimer on the page notes, however, that the page is not updated by the band themselves.

[edit] History

Abeautifulplace was originally started as a fan page by Twoism member joshkowski. He developed the page and attracted over 35,000 followers in less than a year. In August 2006, he was contacted by representatives from Warp who transitioned it to their control. In appreciation of his efforts, Warp sent him a collection of new releases and a t-shirt. [1]

[edit] Status / Mood

Since February 2009, the page has included a "What Am I Doing?" widget, occasionally updated with short cryptic messages in Arabic or Hebrew. These messages seem to hint at activity towards a future release.
