A very calming song that ends in an abrupt manner, and used to play on the BoC old website. "Trails" supposedly alludes to "Chem trails", which were shown on the BoC old website (or perhaps merely 'contrails', the trails of condensation left behind by air craft?). Trails is a loop that appeared on an early official Boards of Canada website[1], which featured this loop (among other looped Boards of Canada tracks) set to visuals (in the case of this song, a sky with contrails).

A 'remixed' version of Trails that has a drum loop can be found in a widely circulated fake of the unreleased album, Closes Vol. 1, as track 8, Close2. This is a mislabeling, and the audio itself is nothing more than a fan-made remix/fake.
