Samples / Lyrics
- From 0:34 onwards, chopped and manipulated vocals from an interaction between a "Teens for Christ" ("The Children of God", later "The Family") cult member and his concerned father sampled from the 1971 BBC documentary "Man Alive: The Jesus Trip".[1][2]
I love you, but I love the Lord
More than I love any physical being
I think that's wonderful
But then why can't you bring that same feeling home?
I really wish that I could do that
[No you were good, that was atypical] [Ooh sweetie!]
What makes you think you can't do it?
Well, He said, "A man's foes will be they of his own household"
Well, I hardly believe your own father or mother or brother or sister would be your enemy
You're gonna call Him a liar?
No, I'm not calling Him a liar
Well, I can do all things through the Lord
Think you can't do it
You saw the way we lived and what we did, do you believe?
I really don't think so
[Uh, let's see, I've lost track]
More than I love any physical being
I think that's wonderful
Well, He said—
I love you, but I love the Lord
More than I love any physical being
I think that's wonderful
Well, He said—
More than I love any physical being
I think that's wonderful
Well, He said—
