Based on a Yahoo Groups post from an associate of the band, the title is likely pulled from a lyric from Golden Avatar - Bhagavad-Gita off their album A Change of Heart.^[1]
A minute-long snippet from this track is the only known sample of Play by Numbers to be heard outside the brothers' friends and family.
About 25 seconds into the sample, a drumbeat very similar to the one used in "Triangles and Rhombuses" is heard.

The snare sample used in this track is taken from Zero G's 1992 CD-ROM sample library Datafile 3.^[2] It is also present in "R35TT B09" from the Random 35 Tracks Tape as both tracks use the same drum beat.^[3]
