Tape 05 is a video uploaded to Boards of Canada's official YouTube channel at 3 p.m. British Summer Time (UTC+1) on April 16th, 2026.[1] The video contains a previously unreleased 3-minute ambient track, serving as the first new music heard from the duo in thirteen years.[2] The track is accompanied by higher-fidelity visuals previously seen in the VHS tapes sent out by the duo earlier that month. It effectively serves as a trailer for Boards of Canada's then-unannounced fifth studio album, Inferno, where it appears as the track "Deep Time".
