"The Process" is the sixteenth track on Boards of Canada's fifth studio album, Inferno.

Comments

  • "The Process" most likely refers to The Process Church of the Final Judgment, which was a brief controversial religious group that was established in 1966 and disappeared sometime in the mid-to-late 1970s. The Process was the title of the group's self-titled magazine.

Samples / Lyrics

  • The track contains lyrics that seem to be spoken by a synthetic female voice. From what can be heard, they seem to be nonsensical strings of babble, such as "we noticed the required although they were refreshingly piped and" and "between various Grecian Bishops, it should be vastly seductive."
  • A homophonic transcription:

"With religion, the mind has something ever cast.
It was once every serial after the southeast doc you worry.
We have a pro rest seed that fantasy or pre-coronation path.
Queried and online there.
A lecture full adaptively by the million.
Worldly lie or the loser fine at least a quarter veterinarian.
Fair.
Big pro quest to them move Tristan off his atrocities.
We.
Notice the acquired although they were refreshing the pipe.
And.
I liked you without her robe intricately stronger.
Slot one.
A lady whatever do the tits offhand?
Between various Grecian bishops, it should be vastly seductive from their aromatic ride or in defined lust who has comprehensively induced him.
Acoustically this plus end question through that, discriminating better the deeper.
They have the magical discharge.
They have directed it down our pal defendant.
With the remains on Cob's shotshell he must be profoundly nibble only with the key powder and roll."

  • At 0:12, the track contains a sample of the Russian shortwave radio station UVB-76, recorded on February 21st, 2006.[1] Known more widely as "The Buzzer", its broadcast consists of a repeating buzzing sound, which reserves the frequency. This buzzing is occasionally interrupted by short strings of numbers and text, like the one sampled on the track, which are presumed to be codes intended for military and/or intelligence purposes. This also appears to have been sampled on the VHS tapes mailed to fans prior to the release of Inferno.
