• A deliberately paradoxical phrase: "right now" and "in the future" collapsed into a single moment. In Christian, Hindu and Buddhist theology, God is often characterised as seeing all times simultaneously (the doctrine of divine eternity; in scholastic Latin, the nunc stans — the "standing now").
• Pairs with "You Retreat In Time And Space" and "I Saw Through Platonia" as the album's trio of time-transcendence titles — all three dismantling the listener's ordinary sense of duration.
• Adjacent to the eschatological tradition: the Christian "Kingdom already, and not yet" — the future is already happening somewhere.
• Sean Booth of Autechre, a contemporary electronic music duo with close ties to Boards of Canada, was asked in a 2022 AMA where Boards of Canada were right now. He responded that he didn't know, but that "they're probably in the future somewhere, worrying about why it isn't like the past." Although likely not the case, the title of this track could be a humorous response to his speculation.
