• Naraka is the term for the hell-realms in Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh cosmology. In Buddhist cosmology there are typically eight hot hells and eight cold hells; Dante's Inferno has nine circles. Inferno pointedly reaches outside the Christian frame.
• In the bardo tradition (Bardo Thödol / Tibetan Book of the Dead), Naraka is one of the six realms of rebirth — entered by those whose karma requires purgation. Pairs with "Memory Death" and "You Retreat In Time And Space" on the Buddhist axis of the album.
• The track is placed at position 7 of 18 — roughly a third of the way in, as Dante's pilgrim is in the seventh circle for violence.
