- The title could be a reference to a musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber called "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."[1]
- "Chroma key" (or color key) is a technique used in video production to swap in a separate signal source over a particular chrominance range across the source video, e.g. in bluescreen cinema effects.[2]
Samples/Lyrics[edit]
- 0:49, 2:40, 3:10 - What appears to be a sample of a seagull's call, however different from the sample on "Happy Cycling".
- 5:16 - A sample from an early 1970's anti-drug social hygiene film "Social Seminar: Tom".[3][4] The sample starts at 10:00.
"Woman: ...two weeks ago for the Christmas formal. [laughs]
Man: For the Christmas formal?! That's a fuckin' sacrament!
Woman: Just so, you know, 'cause the Christmas formal last year was so funny. I thought well, maybe... I didn't like mescaline before but I had such a good time. [laughs] It was just so funny. [laughs]"
- 0:32, 0:42 - What appears to be a sample of a whispery, male voice saying what sounds like "Seven" throughout the song.
- 4:29 - A piano chord which is reused as a sample in "'84 Pontiac Dream".
- 4:30 - A slowed down voice on the right channel repeating "peanut butter. It's doggone good!" sampled from a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial[5][6]
- 2:01, 3:01 - Looped faint voices including what sounds like a woman saying "hey".
