"Somewhere Right Now In The Future" is the sixth track on Boards of Canada's fifth studio album, Inferno.

Comments

The track's title is potentially a reference to a quote by Autechre's Sean Booth when asked, during a 2022 livestream, whether he had any news on Boards of Canada's whereabouts:

They're probably in the future somewhere, worrying about why it isn't like the past.

• The track shares some similarities with the track "Statue Of Liberty" from Old Tunes Vol. 2.

Samples / Lyrics

• At 1:32, the sound of screeching tires - possibly of a car skidding off of a road - can be heard, later followed by a faint crashing sound at 1:41.
