Comments
- There are two versions of this track: the original from 1996's Boc Maxima and the later, longer iteration from 1998's Aquarius 7" single. There are various significant and minor differences between the two mixes, most notably the intro and outro of the Aquarius version are both longer with a greater emphasis on the drum programming than on the original. Other differences include various cues, additional drum patterns throughout, altered synth patches, and mixing/mastering. The version from Aquarius is generally considered by fans as the preferred version on account of its larger scope and denser sound profile.
- The version of this track found on Skam's Aquarius 7" single was available with "Aquarius" for digital download on Skam's website in the early 2000s. These digital versions of the track can be found on the Internet Archive and are generally preferable to the various vinyl rips.
- A weather phenomenon, prominent in Calgary and the surrounding area - [pete from phaelam], [averythefishpeddler]. [1]
- A hamlet in Alberta.[2]
- A native American people of Oregon (in light of the other track titles Kaini Industries and Pete Standing Alone) [DC] - see comments on those tracks elsewhere on the page.
- A make of helicopter, the Boeing CH-47 Chinook, used in the US and the UK.[3]
- A famous checkers-playing program, the first to win a world championship. Since one of BoC has studied AI, this is a good suggestion, especially as the program was written in Canada.
- The opening melody is nearly identical to that of "Wildlife Analysis".
Samples / Lyrics
- The reversed-sounding scratch sound heard throughout the track comes from Zero-G's 1992 Sampler CD Datafile 3.
- From 0:40 onward, samples incidental music from episode 5 of the 1968 Doctor Who serial "The Wheel In Space".[4]
- It is thought that the sound made by a fishing reel (perhaps casting a line) was sampled and used as part of the percussion loop early in the song.[5]
