Facts
DJ Food is an electronic music project currently headed by Kevin Foakes (also known as Strictly Kev). It was conceived in 1990 by Jonathan More and Matt Black of Coldcut and the Ninja Tune record label.[1]
Mixes
Sometime In The Future
A medley of Boards of Canada's Geogaddi by Strictly Kev / DJ Food, first aired on Solid Steel Radio 11/02/02. Made over a weekend after only a few listens as a promo for the forthcoming album.[2]
O Is For Orange
On September 13, 2025, Strictly Kev did a guest mix for Bleep - an updated version of his 'O Is For Orange' mix[3] that references Boards of Canada and themes around their music. There’s also a really nice video mix to go with it.[4]
I Hear The Sun
On June 15, 2026, DJ Food was honoured to be asked by Boards of Canada and Warp to make an Early Hours mix to accompany Inferno on Apple Music.[5] His mix went up on the day of release. The mix is 84 minutes long and contains lots of Boards-adjacent material and music.[6]
