There's the faint sound of wind whistling in the background, evoking images of icy tundras. The mood is a bit unsettling. Panning synths in the style of Oneohtrix Point Never unfurl, along with something resembling vast synthesised panpipes. It's beatless. There are vague hints of trademark BOCian melodies penetrating the synthy murk. • I read a review (sorry, someone else needs to edit this post to properly cite the reference) noting that Gemini are twins, and suggesting that separation (or invisible, maybe inevitable) connections might be a recurring Tomorrow's Harvest theme. (e.g., Split Infinities, Last Rites Of Spring/"Twin gods of death at the end of the tunnel" at http://www.brainwashed.com/common/htdocs/discog/loci1.php?site=coil08, Beckett's Ghost Trio at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Trio_(play), Virgil's Aeneid at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeneid#Themes, & Dante's Divine Comedy at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_Comedy#Thematic_concerns)
  • Many others' comments focus on palindromes, suggesting cycles in the tracks' sequence.
  • Elsewhere, I suggested listening to the tracks in reverse order (see Semena Mertvykh). But I just read the Tomorrow's Harvest XLR8R review (at http://www.xlr8r.com/features/2013/06/deep-inside-boards-canada-tomorr), so now I'm going to experiment with the kind of book-end sequences suggested there:

  • And it's remarkable. For example, I never noticed just how similar Sundown & Telepath are until I heard them side by side. In this order, the entire sequence ends with Collapse, which leaves me feeling unresolved. And so much for "low" vs. "upbeat" halves.
