In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country is an EP by Boards of Canada. Chronologically, it falls between Music Has the Right to Children and Geogaddi. Encompassing four tracks, this ep has a pastoral feel, but the subject matter is mainly David Koresh's Branch Davidian, a sect often featured in Michael and Marcus' work. The most overt reference to this is in Amo Bishop Roden; the track is named after a sect member. A more covert reference is in the title track, where a vocoded voice insistently repeats a recruitment slogan. Packaged in an outer sleeve with an art-bearing inner sleeve, the vinyl edition was coloured turquoise, a common theme in Boards of Canada releases.
